CAAC Holds the Aviation Safety Committee Meeting (Expanded) of March

CAAC held its monthly meeting of the Aviation Safety Committee on March 14 to review the safety situation in the civil aviation sector since February, analyze the current safety landscape, and deploy key tasks for the next phase. CAAC Deputy Administrator Hu Zhenjiang presided over the meeting, and Liang Nan, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, and Hu Zhibin, Deputy Head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed at the Ministry of Transport by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission attended the meeting.

The meeting emphasized that the entire industry must thoroughly study, comprehend, and resolutely act upon the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, earnestly carry out the relevant work arrangements outlined in the Report on the Work of the Government and the key outcomes of the National Work Safety Conference, and effectively enhance the sense of responsibility and mission in ensuring safety. It is imperative to adhere to Xi's important expositions and instructions as the overarching guidance, further cement the concept of safe development, scientifically balance the relationship between safety and development as well as safety and efficiency, consistently maintain the general principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and unwaveringly uphold the principle of  "safety first". The industry must maintain a strong awareness of risks, problems, and responsibilities, further strengthen the emphasis on and organizational support for aviation safety, continuously advance the development of the safety management system, improve the control of safety risks, enhance the effectiveness of identifying and addressing safety hazards, and elevate the inherent safety of the industry. These efforts aim to build a higher level of aviation safety and vigorously promote and safeguard the high-quality development of the industry.

It is reported that since February, thanks to the joint efforts of all entities and departments in the civil aviation sector, the industry has safely, smoothly, and efficiently completed the transport for Spring Festival travel rush and successfully fulfilled the air transport support tasks for the Two Sessions. In February, CAAC held an industry safety video conference during which requirements for related safety work were laid down and special inspections on bird strike and foreign object debris prevention at airports were launched.
