Seminar on Foreign-related Rule of Law in Civil Aviation 2024 Successfully Held

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, the Seminar on Foreign-related Rule of Law in Civil Aviation 2024, co-hosted by the International Cooperation Service Center of CAAC and the Civil Aviation University of China, was held on September 14 in Tianjin. In the remarks at the opening ceremony, CAAC Deputy Administrator Liang Nan said that China's civil aviation industry will act on the strategic deployment of comprehensive law-based governance, and take the 80th anniversary of the Convention on International Civil Aviation as an opportunity to further deepen foreign-related rule of law, coordinate domestic and foreign-related rule of law, improve international civil aviation governance capacity, so as to contribute China's strength to the high-level safety and high-quality development of global civil aviation. ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar sent a video message.

At the Seminar, experts and scholars from CAAC, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and the Academy of International Law and Global Governance of Wuhan University delivered keynote speeches on "Promoting Foreign-related Rule of Law for China's Civil Aviation", "80-Year Progress Review Since the Chicago Convention and New Development of the Montreal Protocol 2014", and "80 Years of the Chicago Convention: Safety Remains a Top Priority". Experts and scholars from the legal community both at home and abroad exchanged views on the four topics of international civil aviation convention and the building of international civil aviation order; the Beijing Convention & Beijing Protocol and China's practice; new developments of international civil aviation regulations; and new challenges faced by international aviation regulations. The Seminar summarized China's experience in participating in international civil aviation governance and discussed measures to strengthen foreign-related rule of law in civil aviation, achieving a series of good results.
